Well guys, our sids monitor went off this weekend, and it was no false alarm! James is fine, thanks to the monitor – but the event could very well have had a very sad ending. This is what happened …
Just six weeks old, and James was not breathing. “James, James,” I was yelling. I picked him up, still yelling. He was not moving or responding. I patted his back quite vigorously, and suddenly his body stiffened and he gave a gasp. Then he was breathing again. I was stunned. We had been in a deep sleep after a very trying night, when I heard the sids monitor alarm beeping. My sleepy brain could not figure out what it was, but I was up and running to James’s cot before I was even awake. What actually woke me was me yelling his name as I raced to his cot. He was a little blue in the face, and a bit fussy afterwards, but otherwise is fine.
We had taken all the recommended precautions with James. He had been lying in the recommended “safe” position - on his back with his head to the one side. His face and shoulders were clear of any bedding or other obstructions. He has always been in a smokefree environment. He has been a healthy baby (other than having colic) and has never had respiratory difficulties. We were so soundly asleep, that we would never have woken, if it had not been for the alarm. We are in no doubt that the alarm saved his life. Of course there is a chance that he would have started breathing again on his own, but we have thanked God countless times that we did not have to find out whether or not he would have revived himself.
The alarm has never given us a false alarm, and we would highly recommend it to all parents of little babies.
Also, anyone thinking of traveling before your baby is a year old should be aware of the research which suggests that babies are more susceptible to sids two days after taking baby to high altitude (like a plane journey, or taking them up a high mountain). Of course this does not mean that anything will happen to your baby if you do these things, but it is wise to be cautious around this time.

Hi. My name is Lisa. We purchased one of your sensor units for our little daughter when she was born. We wish to thank you for your wonderful product as the machine saved our baby's life. 2.45am Monday morning 3 March, 2003 the alarm sounded in Nakita's bedroom. We responded and found her blue and not breathing. As soon as I picked her up she started breathing again. All I could think of was what if we didn't have the sensor. We have encouraged our friends and family to purchase a babysense monitor and Thank you once again.

We purchased a babysense monitor from an advertisement in a baby magazine before our little girl was born.
When she was four weeks old the alarm went off at four in the morning but I picked her up in the dark, so we never knew if it was a false alarm.
Last night 2.30am, the alarm went off. Our little girl is now 7 months old and has just been diagnosed with kidney reflux. We got to her room very quickly and she was not breathing.
She woke and started breathing with some vigorous rubbing and encouragement.
We just would like to thank you for making this product available. We don't even like to think about what would have happened had we not purchased it.
I thank god everyday for our beautiful little girl and with a little help she will grow into a beautiful healthy person.

Details of the incident
On Sunday 13/04/97 at 0400 am I Woke up to the sound of the "BaybSense" alarm. I pushed over to the baby's bed and found her breathless. I picked her up quickly and I performed CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), the color returned to her cheeks and she returned to breath normally.
I Want to point out that without the monitor we would have not be aware of the baby’s distress and possibly minutes later no resuscitation would have helped.
Today the, 13/04/97, Daniel is 2 months old exactly. We feel as if a precious gift was returned to us. All this attributed to your machine.
All left to say is - thank you very much from us all.

I have a baby, now two months old. When she was three weeks old (12/10/97) she was asleep and the Babysense monitor was on. At 4:00 in the morning the Babysense sounded its alarm. My wife got up to see what was happening with the baby, and found her choking and not breathing. I got up and tried to wake her up by shaking her and hitting her lightly on the behind. She did not respond. I ran with her to a window and opened it, and when she received the fresh breeze she woke up. We went to the hospital and she was hospitalized for one week for testing.
We thank the Hisense Company for inventing this device that saved our baby girl, thanks to the Babysense monitor
